Around the
same time that the world saw its first supersonic passenger flight, I started my
life with a bang (pun not intended!) in Madras, India. I was named
Kaushik a.k.a the angry sage Vishwamitra who somewhat digressed from his sagely
duties to start my lineage. The association ends there, for anger and me are
poles apart!
Born into
an Iyengar Vaishnavite family, I adore my traditions
and culture. My favourite shrine being in the city of Srirangam.
My
childhood was truly global. Moving from Chennai to the tiny island
of Singapore, I would call this home for the next 12 years of my life. Apart
from attending school, I also took violin and vocal Carnatic music lessons at
the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society.
High school years saw me back in my beloved Chennai where I attended Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Senior Secondary
School I then ended up in West Lafayette, Indiana and
attended Purdue University for the Computer Science
program. My love for Carnatic music also continued at Purdue, with my
involvement in ICMAP - Indian Classical Music Association at Purdue. A co-op and
later full time offer with Procter & Gamble saw me move to the river city
of Cincinnati. P&G was to form the basis of
my professional life. I am now working for Hewlett Packard - servicing Procter & Gamble
IT.
